25th Haul Ceremony Y.M.T.GURU RA

“Haul” is an Arabic word for a period of one year, however, in this context it denotes a yearly event commemorating the passing of a prominent individual or more specifically, a notable religious figure.

The day of Haul is usually held to remember the contributions and struggles of the said religious figures towards the society and and Allah’s religion which are exemplary for future generations.

The observance of the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Ghulam Hassan Ali-Akbar Al Haj Al-Ghaus Al-Bikangi RA (YMTGURU RA) 25th Haul was held at his residence in Kg Bikang, LahadDatu, Sabah on 24th April 2016 (16 Rejab 1437H)

This glorious function was made possible with the collective efforts of YMTGURU’s family members led by his sons, Haji Abdul Hakim Bin YMTG Haji Ghulam Hassan Al-Bikangi RA and Haji Abdul Halim As-Sidek Bin YMTG Haji Ghulam Hassan Al-Bikangi RA. Invitation was open to the public with banners being put up in Semporna, LahadDatu and a few areas in Sabah. Invitations and publicity were also made in the social media. Alhamdulillah, about 3,000 attendees, from Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia, were present at the event.

From early in the morning on 24th April 2016, Bilal Ali, muezzin appointed by YMTG RA recited the Barzanji. Booths exhibiting and selling books by the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Rahim Al-Hassaniyyah (his disciple)and for this special occasion 50% discounts were given. Flyers and pamphlets were distributed to all attendees.

The main event was two sessions of speech or “ceramah” by the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Ghulam Hassan Ali-Akbar Al Haj Al-Ghaus Al-Bikangi RA (YMTG RA)’s disciple the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Rahim Al-Hassaniyyah:
a. Who is the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Ghulam Hassan Ali-Akbar Al Haj Al-Ghaus Al-Bikangi RA (morning session)
b. What is Thariqat and what are its functions (afternoon session)

Praise be to Allah, even though the sessions were held throughout the day, with break for Zohor prayer, the attendees had stayed on to listen to the speech and advice from the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Abdul Rahim Al-Hassaniyyah

As a mark of respect to the Honourable Tuan Guru Haji Ghulam Hassan Ali-Akbar Al Haj Al-Ghaus Al-Bikangi RA, guests and attendees had visited the tomb of YMTG RA located next to Kg Bikang Mosque not a distant away from his residence. It was done after Zohor.

Alhamdulillah, it was extremely humbling to able to be a part of a blessed and glorious event. It was also obvious the all YMTG RA family members had demonstrated exceptional commitment to help making the event a success. It was heartwarming to see the going out of their way to ensure food and drinks are served throughout the function, and this reminds us of YMTG RA’s dearest traits which was to entertain guests by preparing meals to them. This event was indeed glorious and delightful.
